I would also like a desktop version. If you just stick it on a gif image you could do it. I would do it myself, but I don't have access to the actual .fla file, or the image you cropped for the timer (it would look a bit weird if the timer didn't blend in with the background.
So, if you can bothered creating it as a desktop background, just publish the timer as a .gif when it's stuck back onto the rest of the image. I hope that made sense. It's been awhile since I did anything like this.

not sure how that is done sorry >_< It's all made by flash script and the numbers are just text, added in flash =/ and exporting the movie to a .gif just makes it jump between frame 1 and 2, frame 1 being the counter itself and frame 2 the sneakret (*giggle*) surprise it jumps to when the countdown reaches 0.
anyways, .exe projector thing can be found here.

If you have Windows Vista you can just download a program for your side bar. As it already comes with a few functions like clock, notepads, i.e.

Great work Bard. Only thing is since it calibrates itself from our individual computers, and my timezone is GMT+10, it's going to reach zero hour (for me) about 10 hours early.
Still a great job, I just think that perhaps it should be set to a single timezone, to prevent confusion.

Damn, I was afraid that might happen. I didn't think of that until much later. Ahh well. It's still a great little thing.

The counter doesn't appear to have any understanding of timezones, unfortunately.
In Windows XP, you can add a flash (*.swf) item to the desktop.
Right click on Desktop
-> select Properties
-> select the Desktop tab
-> click the "Customize Desktop..." button
-> select the Web tab
-> click the "New..." button
-> click the "Browse..." button
-> type *.* and hit enter
-> select the countdown timer file and click Open.

Yes, the counter should be set for 12:01 Pacific time, not local time.

I figured out a way to trick the timer into displaying the correct time remaining:
* Set your time zone to Pacific
* Start the countdown timer
* Reset your time zone
I tried manually changing the time first, but the timer picked up on that and updated accordingly. It doesn't pick up on time zone changes, though, so this method works (at least on Windows XP).
